After visiting The Hidden Valley we stopped off at Huka Falls. These are a set of waterfalls on the Waikato River that drains Lake Taupo. The Waikato River narrows from about 100 metres to 15 metres...and this is where we we're standing! There is a bridge that leads across the falls, and the sound of the rushing water is immense...it is thought that approximately 220,000 litres of water flows through per second!
It was obviously a large tourist attraction as there we're a few people there...but well worth the trip. There is a speed jet boat that can take you right up to the bottom of the waterfall...and Graham is thinking of having a go over Easter when we go camping up there.
Hope you like pics....
